Warm with Very Nice Clouds

16.4C with plenty of sunshine. Light WSW/W/S breeze.

Grocery shopping.

Went the ten miles or so South to Southend then followed the road round past Dunaverty beach and Kiel to Carskey Bay. There were quite a few seals on the rocks by the shore at Kiel. I rather imagine they were enjoying the warm day.

At Carskey we walked along to the far end and came back again along the path at the back of the beach with the last little bit back on the beach itself.
.
The Antrim coast was very clear. Looked like a nice day over there too.
Some Gannets, flying along parallel to the shore in formation.
Three yachts. All heading East.
There were people on the beach. Some had dogs.
We brought home a lump of driftwood which is now sitting at the top of the turret stairs where it will finish drying out (if it needs it) before it becomes part of or the basis of a garden sculpture sometime in the hazy future.

There were no eggs on display at Little farm's roadside stand again, but there were four turnips, a bag of Kale, and a bag of soggy Gem lettuce. No sale.

Later Apothecary7 was painting.
Van Morrison was accompanying the painting.
Afternoon tea was accompanied by carrot cake.

I have been having an enjoyable email conversation with a Canadian journalist who has given us the email address for a gentleman who has family connections to the original Managing Director of our Picture House. The Canadian gentleman is just as fascinating a character as the Picture House Managing Director. He was born in China and was interred in the same camp as was portrayed in the JG Ballard book, and later film, Empire of the Sun. He has written extensively on the subject himself.
We are hoping he might have a family photo or two tucked away somewhere.
In any case, I enjoyed finding him.
