Bare Island

Bare Island is a notable Sydney site for a few reasons. It is the only island in Botany Bay (located near the entrance to the bay) and it's also home to a historically significant fort that was built in 1885 to protect the area from an expected Russian invasion.

It was decommissioned in 1902 and is probably best known these days as one of the locations for Mission Impossible 2.
It's a popular site for scuba diving, kite flying, wedding shoots, picnickers, fishing.
You get the idea.  The perfect place to go on a beautiful Sunday.
Until fairly recently you could also check out the Snake Man of La Perouse.
The blip is of one of a group of dancers practising on the hill; the first extra is of a model and one of three photographers taking their life in their hands to get the shot; the second extra shows part of the fort, which takes up most of the island.
We were unable to do the tour as we had Billy, who can be seen in the third extra with Lil.
