Burryman day
Doc left the house before the sparrows had even farted, in order to be present at the Burryman's dressing. We got a car and went out to South Queensferry in the afternoon in order to join the procession. When we were waiting in a quiet residential side street for him to appear, the only other person standing around waiting with a camera turned out to be our old blip-chum Queenie, who I've been commenting with on Blip for almost as long as I've been here - but it was the first time we'd met in the flesh. It was lovely to meet you, J! Then when we got down to Scotmid we met up with Old Bat - it's been too long since we've met up for a totter.
The last part of the Burryman's route takes him along the High Street/Edinburgh Road as far as the Hawes Inn before he heads back to his ultimate disrobing in the Stag Head via all the intervening pubs. (See the extra). He also makes a small detour to visit the Maid of the Forth and the lifeboat station.
Afterwards we conveyed a very tired and somewhat whisky-sodden Doc back to Leith where we met Mel for a meal in the Vaults.
