Intense

Breakfast with V&M (having got soaked going for rolls!) then straight into first symposium session thinking about aspects of 'high and low' in art, partly stimulated by having seen Don Giovanni last night.
Lots of intense discussion and interesting to hear so many very different perspectives being shared. Then a walk through the city to one woman play at Summerhall... 'Pike St'.... very powerful performance. An hour back home (where I just grabbed some food and lay down!) then out again to see a group of young Indian women relate their experiences of being brought up in the red light district of Mumbai ('Lal Batti Express'). Amazing testimony. This young woman, despite some horrific experiences, is now studying in the US and has received UN awards. Very moving piece
Our group did a bit of planning for our session tomorrow morning then walked home amidst great hilarity and chat. Reminds me of summer school days....mad!
