Still Life

The sun finally peeked through today after yesterday's torrential rain. A very welcome bit of respite. For the last three Wednesdays I've driven in the rain to A's. It's supposed to be summer.

After my appointment yesterday, I came home and had breakfast with the others. I've spent quite a bit of time writing over the last few weeks. I've been having some coaching sessions from a colleague at school, and after discussion, she has encouraged me to write and submit an article to a newspaper about my thoughts on education.

I wrote a little bit a few months back, when something tipped me over the edge re school. I found it quite hard to get going, but I've managed to amass 8,000 words fairly easily, and I'm thinking that it now seems more suited to a book. I could pick out the serious parts to make an article, and perhaps I will. 

I texted a friend to tell her about it, seeing as she is part of the humorous antics of the last year, and she invited me over for a cuppa. It was nice to be spontaneous, and we spent over three hours just chatting and laughing. She thought what I'd written was hilarious, and we made some notes about more things to add. It made me happy.

I went to the gym in the evening, and did some backflips and some trampoline stuff. I'm always glad when I've made the effort to go. 

So now I am tasked with trying to organise what I've written into chapters of sorts, and finding exactly who to submit it to.
