I was fortunate today to have 2 shoots with military connections. One was at the EICA in Ratho; this was a PR/recruiting do for the Royal Marines and involved them doing their insanely fast abseills down the clearest wall in the arena along with me ending up "locked off" halfway down another wall taking pictures of the people the Royals were sending down on abseills of their own. That was a lot of fun, but the harnesses used are designed to support you during an abseill, not for sitting in for extended periods of time.

The other was with a serving member of the Royal Regiment of Scotland who I met through a friend. It's an image from this shoot that I decided to post as I decided to try to shoot stories for the images rather than recording something which was happening around me.

The location is the memorial in Dunfermline and we had several passers-by over the shoot come over for a look.

I'll let the image tell it's own story and leave you with this final thought: The Poppy Appeal still supports ex-servicefolk and needs our support throughout the year as well as at the usual time we see the poppies on sale. Please feel free to make a donation at any time of year. Details can be found on how to do that very easily online.

Poppy Scotland for those north of the border
Poppy Appeal for those south of it
