The Last Pants

My Dear Fellow,

As you know, Mad Dog and I have been going to the films together for years. It started at "Star Trek: Insurrection" in 1998. It also instituted another tradition when I passed my rucksack over to him during the movie and asked him, "Red or white?"

The "Bag o' Fun" was born and we've been getting pished at the films together ever since. Using the parlance of the time, it was named "The Pants Film Night" and at one time our group swelled to about a dozen. However, he and I have always been there, seeing films like "Lake Placid", "Shanghai Noon", "Men In Black 2" and other quality pieces of cinema, happy in the knowledge that even if the film is rubbish (and they often were) we had the bag to fall back on.

Last night it was "Atomic Blonde" and we had good fun with that, and afterwards went to the Black Bull for a pint. It's a shame that it was the last pants, but at least Charlize Theron let us see the last one off in style.

And then on my way home, the fireworks. Which my iPhone never properly picks up, but hey, I tried.
