Leica
We decided we were both a bit wiped out and citied out today, so option B was deployed and we visited the Leica museum in Wetzlar on our way north from Frankfurt. We wombled into the staff canteen by mistake, but they were very nice and sorted out a coffee for us. The whole place is a very interesting spot with displays of the cameras through the last century or so, exhibitions of iconic images, there are so many instantly recognisable ones, taken with Leica. A shop, where for a spare €6000 or so you could pick one up. The walk around also enabled you to see into the current workshop area, slightly bizarre, where workers in dust suits, and hair covered, worked on the cameras..it seemed a little bit Willie Wonka and the Oompa Loompa song kept whispering in my head..
I loved it though and lusted after the cameras.
A few extras below. We are in Bad Karlshafen tonight, meeting blipper Admirer tomorrow! Then Kassel until Tuesday with Z's dad and Hannah for her 60th and then back to Ireland . Wifi may be non-existent for us in Kassel, so you may be spared our travels till we get back, or maybe not! Yesterday's blip here. https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2342419902222043048
