Childminding in Edinburgh
Today I was sole childminder for our grandson Torran. I decided we would spend it at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. He is not quite 18 months old but the Fringe seems to be getting bigger and bigger so he needs to start young.
After changing a significant nappy, we went in via park&ride - because he is young and I am old, the bus didn't cost us anything. We went to a baby disco first - Torran has all the moves though he was a little uncomfortable with the darkened space at 11 o'clock in the morning. Then a snack of Asian dough balls.
Then another show - Trash Test Dummies. A kind of acrobatic/clowning/dancing/slapstick kind of affair. It certainly engaged all the kids. Torran's contribution was to throw a ball back on to the stage for which he received a small ripple of applause. Then another snack before slowly meandering through the crowds to our bus home.
I mastered most things apart form keeping his face clean and delivered him home, safe, sound and culturally enriched.
