High Jencks

Off to the Garden of Cosmic Speculation today, not far out of Dumfries and the former home of Charles Jencks, he of the Crawick Multiverse.

An amazing place, not only for its superb land forms, but for the quirky DNA garden, seen here. On a visit with NTS Head Gardeners here many years ago, one hapless soul climbed up the white steps in the corner - not in this picture - and was almost forcibly brought down by the Head Gardener who told him 'They're not steps, they're ART'! If Charles Jencks had seen him, he told us, NTS would never be allowed back. I reminded the HG, and he remembered - it must have made a big impression on him at the time and was probably afraid for his job.
