Wound up in Wexford

Riga, day one

After a really early start, we were in Riga centre by 1330 local time. Fortunately, our room in the hotel was ready, and we were able to unpack a little before getting a bite to eat. Then a short walk, before returning to the hotel.

W is snoring well, catching up on lost sleep, whilst I play with the WiFi, and learn more about my tablet, and the pros and cons of blipping via the app versus the website.

This is a rather splendid statue of a guy called George Armitstead, https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Armitstead_(mayor) who was mayor of Riga 1901 to 1912. The statue was unveiled by Queen Elizabeth II in 2006, on her first visit to Latvia.
