Happy Summer Memories

In years gone by people couldn't afford to travel to the coast more than the odd time every year, so weekends were often times to go to the Park, and take a picnic with you , and with luck half an hour on a Pedalo or rowing boat on the lake..
65 years  later they are still there and providing fun for all ages, just as they did in my long ago childhood.
And you can still go on the 1930 Splash Boat too.
I read somewhere that the lake was dug out by local volunteers armed with shovels and spades after the First World War, and it is huge!
By the way a large funfair opens on Saturday on the mail field!
