The Met Office was right - the rain is back.

Had an enjoyable harvest service this morning. The minister played Letter From God to Man by Dan le Sac vs Scroobius Pip. Don't think all of the congregation approved of the noise, but we had the lyrics to follow.

After church we went into town to get a new water bowl for the chickens, seeing that I broke theirs. We came back 3 hours later with 10 chicken rings, a mount cutter, mounting board, 2 bulbs for the kitchen light, 2 desk lamps for our bedside tables with globes, a pink ruler (which turned out not to be suitable to be used with the mount cutter). We looked at waterers, but the available ones were not easy to close & visions of a bowl full of icy water outside in the icy cold in winter, trying to fit the bottom part on the bowl full of water part filled our thoughts. Will go to Copdock Mills next week. The chooks just have to drink out of the metal one they don't like.

Had cheese & mango chutney toasties when we came back & a nap. Now enjoying a Maverick Twisted Porter from Norfolk Square brewery & the smell of turkey drumstick roasting with mushrooms, tatties & onion (for the gravy, I've been told).
