The Passchendaele centenary pin

The postman delivered a parcel, this morning, that I had ordered as a surprise gift for Linda.  The battle of Passchendaele was fought exactly 100 years ago so the British Legion have brought out a special centenary poppy pin .  It is made of brass from used shell cases collected at the site of the battle and the enamel contains finely ground earth also collected at the same location.  One has been made for each life lost and comes with a memorial certificate naming a fallen soldier.
