Fountainbridge basin

This is close to the very end of the Union Canal at Fountainbridge. I'm not sure of the technical terms, but the section of road was lifted up to allow canal boats to travel underneath. When I was wee, this area of Edinburgh was really grotty, and now it looks great.

We were there as part of Doors Open Day, and also visited the Museum of Fire, Tron Kirk and Edinburgh Uni's massive library. And Vittorio's for lunch, which was bellissimo.
