"Man was made to mourn..."

It was Doors Open Day today, where monuments, buildings and usually closed historic spaces let the curious in for a wee wander.

We came across it accidentally to be honest, but it was wonderful to see inside The Burns Monument on Regent Road having passed it so often. They had musicians playing some of the Bard's famous tunes and two wonderful chaps reciting his poems off by heart and with much passion. A real - and unexpected - delight.
