Where Is My Mum?

In a few days I am going to look after Alice all day while Elisabet goes to Stockholm for her niece's confirmation. Since I've been here for a few days now, we decided I should do some walkies with Alice all by myself so she gets used to it before the actual day of dog-sitting.

So this evening I was in charge of bedtime walkies. I was very pleased that she happily went with me. She was a bit puzzled and frequently looked back to see if her mum was following, but there was no crying or pulling to go back home. These are her favourite rocks - she always jumps on them and enjoys a treat. Tonight was no exception but she was also looking wistfully in the direction of home, probably wishing her mum was with us too. But all in all it was a great success.

In other news - this morning I went to church with Elisabet - to the cathedral where we'd been on Friday. I enjoyed it and tried to follow along even though it was all in Swedish of course!

Then this afternoon we had a great outing! We went along to a big local 'poodle-meet' in the forest. It was a walk, with a few activities to help socialise the dogs, and we all brought something to eat for fika. Alice and Elisabet hadn't been before, but it was great fun to see all the other poodles of all sizes and colours. Alice played with the others so well and someone 'loaned' me one of her two toy poodles so that I would have one to walk too. I was a bit sad because Dolly would have loved it - she loved other dogs - but also very happy to be around so many lovely poodles. A great outing.
