This is the hellish interior of U-534 sunk in 1945

Recovered from the Kattegat Sea near Sweden in 1993 and put on display in Birkenhead.
She went down with a loss of just four lives after being hit by a single depth charge by RAF Liberator G86.
The extras show another interior, this one of the battery room, the starboard (right) side of U-534 and the devastating effect of the depth charge at the starboard quarter which also bent her prop shaft.
The wellington boots were discarded by evacuating crew.
