MonoMonday: Crossing the Street

We stopped for a quick lunch on the way to the grocery store today.  Pipersdad expressed concern about the old  man trying to cross in the middle of the busy street.  There is an assisted living facility adjacent to the restaurant and he had come from that direction.  It was raining and he wasn't dressed for the weather and he was walking with difficulty, even with the walker.  He managed to get halfway across and this image shows him standing in the middle lane of the street.  I was appalled that cars just kept on whizzing past him as he stood there in the rain in the middle of the street.  What is wrong with people??  I know he wasn't in a crosswalk but they still should have stopped and let the poor man get across the street!  It made me sad.  I'm glad to say he finally made it safely to the other side.  I hope he did as well on his return trip!
