This afternoon I watched 12 year old L who is staying for a few days, practising the Rainbow Flick.  I had no idea what it was but have discovered it is a very skilful trick which some footballers have managed to use to surprise their opponents.   Whether he is ever able to use it successfully in a match remains to be seen but he seemed to be doing well and quite often managed to get it over his head.
It is done by the player picking up the ball with their feet and getting it put through their legs. Then, the player releases the ball from their legs and rolls it up their back heel and flicks it with their back heel over their head, like a rainbow.
