Marble

This staircase is in the Lomond Galleries building in Alexandria, still always referred to locally as the Torpedo Factory. It’s quite magnificent, and the photo doesn’t do it proper justice (there were a lot of adverts around and on the staircase, so I tried to get an angle that showed as few of them as possible).
