Where the heart is

What a thoroughly enjoyable day. Spent almost all of it with the bro, after he called this morning, and following an oft had conversation about houses and location, we set off after coffee for a tour of Great Baddow, Sandon, even Galleywood - always using the country lanes route through rural arable farm lands that link each of these villages and areas south of Chelmsford - we must have been out and about for a couple of hours.  It's where we grew up.  We've done this before and I always love it - seeing the play lands of our childhood, talking talking as we drive and revisit our memories.

Of course this worked up considerable thirst and appetite so we ended up calling in at the F&R for lunch and it was gone 4pm before I was back from the supermarket having bought ingredients for dinner - bro was bringing both my niece and elder nephew for my home-made-from-scratch  macaroni cheese. By the time it was in the oven, they had arrived, and the four of us had a very nice meal and time together.

The photo was snapped in one of the rural lanes on the edge of Great Baddow. Very old and perhaps a bit run down, but still clearly home for someone.
It's where the heart is.
