Seriously old Spiral!
The theme for this week's MonoMonday is old - you don't get much older than this! This chap swam around somewhere between 240-65 million years ago (that's quite a wide number!) Ammonites were predators, their nearest relatives today being squids and nautilus. I didn't know this fact until just now - they are named after the Ancient Egyptian god Ammon who had a ram's head with large curly horns! Thanks to the Aphid for hosting.
Bank holiday here and it's been a nice one - the sun has shone after a dire day yesterday, I've been swimming, moved the lawns, read a lot of the book lent to me by TJ on Bog Bodies (fascinating) and put up a new blog entry . Enough for one day.
Back blip of Mr Norton in full swing
