Epsom racecourse

I used a different route today to get to my regular hospital checkup. My regular route has hold ups due to road works. This route took me across Epsom Downs with its distant views overlooked by the iconic grandstand. This building has changed a lot since I first knew it. Bit by bit it has been rebuilt and painted a gleaming white. We lived within walking distance of the racecourse when I was a child and did join the crowds once or twice, and visit the fair.
The heavy clouds look ominous, but no rain as yet.
