I'm afraid so...

I thought Thursday was the last time I'd see or post a shot of Foxcote Manor, but I was wrong. As Susan had not seen the loco we decided on one last hurrah this afternoon at Tenterden Town Station. We arrived in time to see the Up Pullman arrive with the elegant Wealden Pullman full of diners enjoying Sunday lunch. They were on to the puddings by the time they arrived in Tenterden.

While waiting for the Manor to pull in we all sat on the platform, enjoying an ice cream in the warm sunshine. Soon we heard the characteristic whistle and the loud bark of the engine working up the steep gradient into the station. It was a magnificent sight, well worth another look as we watched it uncouple, run around the train and couple up ready for the 15.35 departure, the final round trip of the day. It was difficult to choose today's blip from so many images of this loco from all possible (and some impossible) angles.

This shot is of that train waiting for the right of way to lazily amble down the hill to Rolvenden, Wittersham, Northiam and Bodiam. We watched it go then moved off for a cream tea at Silcocks Farm Shop nearby. Every time I work the gates at Cranbrook Road crossing I see a sign showing "Silcocks Farm Shop - Next Right". In over 5 years this was the first time I've followed the sign and found the shop.

Although it was a Sunday, towards the end of the day, there were still tea and scones left - and very good they were too. The shop sells meat, milk and milk products from the farm - Herefordshire Beef, Lamb, Old Spot pork, ice cream, cheese, yoghurts and so on. All organically produced. Being Sunday the meat was not on display which means we'll have to go back and see what it's like.

We did have Kentish beef for dinner though - a Beef Bourguignon which had been in the slow cooker since this morning, accompanied by potatoes, beans and cabbage from the alloment.
