A slice of Lesley's life

Holiday Blues

No idea what his weird hand is doing but apparently it is a good thing for a guitarist to have an odd shaped hand. The long days of nothingness are the perfect chance for Carlos to catch up on all the Blues he doesn't get to play when he is wearing enclosed shoes and doing the things people are willing to pay him for. He really doesn't need it but the prospect of an impending gig doesn't do any harm.

I, on the other hand, do need the prospect of an impending actual run with other people to get my ass out of bed and going for a run. There is an additional challenge here of it needing to be done early doors before it is too hot to even contemplate such madness. So I nudged Carlos out of bed at stupid o'clock and we headed to the front for a run which, for me anyway, was incredibly hard and painful but joyously, virtuously satisfying afterwards. He wasn't sure about getting up but did thank me afterwards.

Home for breakfast on the terrace, enjoying the peace of the valley before the entertainment showed up. Not that I'm complaining as playing blues guitar was in the top 3 reasons for marrying him.

Fun and games in the pool with Anna, including an amusing round of A-Z of gymnastics and game of Spanish Ball with a new ball inscribed with the warning that it is not a toy.

On a whim we headed for lunch in the mountains at El Capricho* and the completion of yesterday's game of Military Rummy. I won, making Carl amusingly grumpy and resorting to calling me a Card Witch. Oh, and apparently I am a Pool Witch too on the simple basis that I can float. Like a normal person. Though it turns out that water doesn't go up either of their noses when they go upside down in water. Weird the things you learn when you are busy doing nothing.

Home for a proper, recovering from the run siesta and now an evening wake me up dip in the pool before dinner. And a request for a card game rematch.

News from London and all seems to be going to plan with OFS.

So all relaxed and happy and good in both London and Spain.

Nobody wrote a song about that.
