Fringe Previews Day 2

We ventured back in to Edinburgh today for a further day of EdFringe previews


Lula del Ray by Manual Cinema
Underbelly Med Quad - Venue 302

This is the 2nd year that this company has visited from Chicago to present a show using old overhead projectors to make a cinematic film, live. 
It is a sight to see. Well worth seeing for everything coming together on the stage. 
This is a new story using the same techniques and it is a sight to behold. 


Geoff Norcott: Right Leaning but Well Meaning
Underbelly, George Square - Venue 300 - Wee Coo

This, for us was a filler show that we were given comp tickets to. It wasn't on our radar to see, nor would we have probably found it if it was not for the someone near thrusting these tickets into our hands as we entered the Underbelly side of George Square.
Geoff is a proud Tory Brexiteer. A brave topic to do stand-up in Scotland. However he said his piece, it was mildly comedic and there were no punches thrown by the comic, nor audience. But given it was early in the season, very little alcohol was flowing at the time this might lead to a more disagreeing audience later in the month.



James Acaster: The Trelogy
Pleasance Courtyard - Venue 33 - Pleasance One

James is doing his 3 shows on various nights accross the fringe. So, you could see his three sets over the course of the Fringe run. This point had to be clarified by the Fringe office earlier in July as there appeared to be some confusion. 
The show was entertaining, with topics such as the Chilean miners & jury duty being discussed. There was also an attempt to explain the christmas "Christingle" to us all, which I think could still be up for debate despite James Acaster's attempt to dissect this strange christmas christian tradition.

Genital count: 2/3 shows mentioned their genitals in some form today.
