Saturday: Lion's Gate Bridge

The good thing about having visitors is that it also gets you out and about exploring your city.

This morning, we headed down to Stanley Park and walked along the sea wall to the bottom of the Lion's Gate Bridge. It's a fairly spectacular structure and standing underneath really gives you a sense of that. We then went to the lookout point at Prospect Park.

From there, we went for lunch at the Acme Cafe on Hastings - parts of Hastings are extremely gritty. I think it was a bit of an eye opener for J and S.

This evening was spent in the splendid company of V and E. They prepared a lovely feast, following which we walked down to a splendid vantage point by the water to watch the last fireworks display in this year's 'Celebration of Light'. The last one was done by Canada and, I hate to say it, but it knocked the socks off the UK night. It was absolutely lovely.

That's still fire haze you can see, not mist or cloud.
