Remembering?
This lone hummingbird seemed to fit the remembrances of today.....each of us mourns is our own minds.....perhaps looking to the heights of the sky for peace.
We had a relatively calm seas for the three mile trip out into the ocean; we dropped a wreath of flowers along with the ashes of my husband's brother. We were joined by his two sons and their wives. The time was meaningful as we watched the wreath float away and flowers we dropped follow it in a haphazard way. We said a few words.....actually not many words......but it felt good....loving......meaningful. The sons have not been close.......they have drifted apart......and it felt good to see them reconnecting in meaning ways this afternoon and evening.
I could label this for Silly Saturday because we also spread the ashes of... we think Mary......there was an urn of ashes in brother Bill house....we think it was his girlfriend who had died about 10 years ago.....we think her name was Mary.......so now "Mary" is buried at sea with Brother Bill.
Thanks for stopping to see my hummingbird. Enjoy what is left of your weekend.
