Oyez, Oyez

Maleny is the town I stay in most of the time when in Australia. It's inland of the Sunshine Coast of Queensland. The town has its own Town Crier - the present incumbent is John Stevenson and a most cheerful and jolly fellow he is.

After I took this blip he joked, "That'll be seven and sixpence please" which reminded me that Australia's currency was indeed English pounds sterling. Google tells me that the Aussie dollar was introduced in 1966 so I guess John remembers the sterling days.
