My Dad

Family photos on the bureau in my Dad's living room. The young man is my Dad aged about 16 when he was still at school in Blackburn; the other photo shows Dad and my stepmother Aud (who died last May).

Spent the morning walking to Crewe and registering my Dad's death, then met the funeral director to set a date (1 August) and starting to make related arrangements. My mate Jules gave me a lift back to Nantwich, where I notified the bank of his death, and I made an appointment to meet the family solicitor. Took a thank-you card to Clarendon Court and spoke to three of the four carers I particularly wanted to see personally.
