Roman Snail

2 monsoons here this afternoon but it has turned into a beautiful evening. So belatedly I have been for my walk round the "block". Actually the big field at the top of the road - its 2.5k so my phone tells me. I wasn't surprised to see this large Roman snail on the path after all the rain. I know I have blipped them before but they are really striking. The Romans imported them. They don't travel far so it means that there was a Roman settlement near here somewhere.
