Bad nature lover

How could I have let the birdbath get so dried up? Having allergies should be no excuse for not wanting to go outside. Chickie here was so excited about coming in for a splash but just sat there in disbelief at the dismal state of the dish. There wasn't even enough to scoop up a drink.. I had no sooner filled it up and he was back with a few of his good friends.
