The Rec

Following a pacemaker check at Warwick Hospital we went into Stratford for a coffee at Nero. We had read in the local paper that a rare butterfly had been seen in the wildflower garden that had been set up on the recreation ground ('the rec' to us locals) which borders the river. So we walked back that way to have a look. The wildflower area is quite extensive, and very impressive, with a path winding through it. Due to lack of sun/warmth there were no butterflies to be seen, but a few bees were buzzing abut. After a pleasant walk we went back to the chain ferry to cross the river and back for a late lunch.

Full of optimism we lowered the awning and put the garden furniture cushions out for an alfresco lunch, after a while it started raining!

Emma popped in for a cup of tea and chat this afternoon on the way to see her friend in Shipston.
