We've been adopted. When we arrived 9 days ago his face was covered in cuts with chunks of skin missing following a nasty cat fight (according to our hotel owner). He's now well on the way to recovery, probably helped along by the regular treats of tuna, salami and cheese.

He's been named Scabbers.
