Windthrow

Standing next to the poor fallen tree the "wound" seemed much bigger than on the photo. I don't think I've ever seen a bigger one.

I wonder what its like when it falls. Is is a slow process - are the roots trying until the very end to keep the tree up - or is it a matter of seconds? I don't know (and I don't think I want to be there when it happens).

Cycled a few kilometers today. I don't seem to get in the right mood for cycling in this years holiday; there is room for improvement. Or claim it on the weather, that's much easier. Ask me in 3 weeks.
