Bindweed and a Bookshop

I’ve had a particularly chilled-out day today.  This morning M, B and I joined the U3A Birdwatching Group on their walk from the ford at Glandford, along the Glaven Valley and back via the Natural Surroundings Café.  This is really no distance at all but it took us a leisurely two hours (including our coffee and cake stop). We stopped to look for birds (which are duly noted on the survey form) and we were also enjoying the butterflies and wild flowers too, not to mention the distant view of a group of hares showing up well in the harvested wheat field chasing each other around in the sunshine (too far for a photo unfortunately).  The blip is of the pretty and often overlooked lesser bindweed, it always reminds me of granny’s nightie with its delicate pink stripe.
M and B went to the cinema in Cromer to see the film ‘Valerian’ this afternoon, it was a Sci-Fi film and not really my cup of tea, so I wandered around the Cromer charity shops and the wonderful second-hand bookshop pictured as an Extra.  The bookshelves meander through the shop, floor to ceiling, and there are all sorts of drawers and boxes containing other goodies such as old magazines, theatre programmes, cigarette cards, football programmes etc.  A number of stools are dotted around for either reaching high shelves or just for sitting on whilst perusing the vast and varied collection of books.  The lovely lady behind the counter was very happy to let me take a few photographs.
A most enjoyable day.
