Spent Camellia
It has been raining again today so I didn't want to go far for my Blip. The Camellias are all but finished in our courtyard, but I thought they might be worth another try. I found only few worth photographing, but then I noticed how intriguing these spent flowers are. The stamens have grown, opened and withered, while all the petals have fallen. Still there seems to be residual pollen on them. This must be why the honeyeaters still visit fleetingly. My extra is just so you can identify this as a camellia "has-been".
Looks better in Large.
