Recovery

I feel confident that when the (Georgian?) joiner made these shelves with a precisely fitted and carefully routed oak front he didn't intend anyone (Victorian?) to hobnail a velvet strip to it.

Following on from some rearranging of shelves I've got back on to the job of recovering these shelves. Removing the hobnails leaves a rather messy front but some judicious filling and staining looks like it's going to result in a reasonable finish eventually.

The other thing that happened today was that the judges from Visit Worcestershire's Awards for Excellence came round as, yet again, we're in the final three!

We get to hear the result in September...
