Jay and my parents
I just love this photo, it makes me proper smile. Jay reckons he looks like they have taken him out for a special day out. It was a day of two walks. First off Will, Rosie and I walked down the steep, wet, leaf covered steps all the way down the cliff face of our garden. Familiar people to me and this journal will understand this was a bloody terrifying walk for me but I soldiered on in the name of brave motherhood. There was a pond at the bottom, Rosie waded right in for a swim much to Will's disgust after he has spent two days trying to coax her into the swimming pool.
Then we dragged my dad from his chair for a family walk to the grassy end of the garden. A happy jaunt, I took lots of funny photos. The children were successful in getting my mum in the pool, then dinner, I turned a heel in my knitting and now Daisy is doing us a pub quiz. I have also read the rules of canasta to everyone. Such things are joyous mini breaks are made of.
