Remember, 3rd August 2017

Today is such an important and emotional day here. It's 3 years today since the yezidi genocide started. We visited our yezidi friends to remember with them. Their memories are so vivid. We sat watching on television scenes from the horrors of when they fled up Mount Sinjar. K's friend is just so sweet, they really love each other. She was telling me today all about the goat she used to have as a pet back home which she had to leave behind when they fled :(

The daughter of this family has just left with 50 others to go the illegal route to Germany. She's getting married to her cousin who's already there. It brought home to me what a short time we get with people. I really liked this girl, we had some lovely times chatting and now she's gone.
