Liberton Tower

This shows the view from beside the big chimney on the parapets of Liberton Tower, looking across Blackford Hill towards Arthur's Seat and Edinburgh Castle, with West Lomond and Bishop Hill in Fife behind. Liberton Tower was probably built around 1480 but abandoned by the owners in 1610 and then used for agricultural purposes until it was repaired and restored in 1997. It is now used as an interesting holiday let and has panoramic views all around (apart from the ugly King's Buildings) The goats which were in the field below have seen the everchanging view in all weathers and continued to graze contentedly in the warm sunshine, taking no notice of all the visitors who were visiting on Edinburgh Doors Open Day.
