... is definitely the word. I've just walked a mile of the Bexhill seafront and not one person on the beach. Still, you'd need an industrial strength windbreak if you wanted to take advantage of the moment of sunshine on offer in this pic.
Not too many customers for the lifeguards today, hopefully.
