more old removed

The walls are still standing, but barely. Last week more demolition work was done and some will follow in the coming week. From then on our new house will actually be built, in the sense that material is added instead of removed.

This is a view from what will be the front of the house. The roof is gone and so are the upper windows. The remaining windows will also be removed and on the ground floor seven double doors, rounded at the top, will overlook the front garden. The tree must come down too. I shall eventually replace it with another one elsewhere in the garden.

I will try to take at least one shot every week so the improvements will only gradually paint the picture of the house that we hope is going to be finished in the first half of 2009. Of course these photographs are not meant to be beautiful pictures in their own right. What I do intend is to show gradually what an old and worn out building can be changed into.
