Stumped

It was another gloriously bright sunny day; I was tempted to go with DaveH to the football as it's great to watch in these conditions, but decided that the allotment would be in more urgent need of my attention.

I was quite taken aback to find that the big old tree on the corner of Prospect Bank (a London plane, I think) had vanished, leaving only a stump. It took me a while to find the previous blip of it when I first noticed the cross - August 2011, so it's had another full summer's leafage since then.

I did a lot of digging, hoeing, pruning and weeding, but not so's you'd notice. My reward was a few courgettes, some nice little pak choi and a pile of French beans. After a visit to the Chinese supermarket I spent a useful couple of hours sorting out the spice cupboard.
