Magnificent trees

Great outing to Cefn Ila courtesy of The Woodland Trust today. Quite a few surprises, including the trees of the arboretum. This Scots Pine was apparently covered in ivy when the trust first took on the management of this site. There's also a Wollemi Pine there, planted just a few years ago. 

And yes, The Woodland Trust is also concerned with preserving and developing native broadleaf woodland, as we saw on another part of the site.
