Fettes
Sir William Fettes (1750-1836), a wealthy city merchant and Lord Provost, bequeathed the very large sum of £166,000 to build a school where poor children and orphans could be educated.
Today it is one of the leading public schools in Scotland.
Tony Blair is a Former Pupil.
