Its the Way It Is

Greenfingers

I don't have them, unfortunately. The Head Gardener grew all my favourite fruit' 'veg and sadly all the raised beds have not been planted for the last 3 years.

I still try and grow tomatoes - as there ain't nothing like an Irish tomato. And today finally one turned from green to orange to red (i must have done something right).

When I was a young girl, all the fruit'n'veg in the shops was grown locally or at furtherest in the coastal town of Rush in North County Dublin, where the spuds, carrots, cabbage and onions were all imported from. There was a huge market in Dublin where all the growers brought their goods and the buyers came to buy. My Dad used to bring us there for a day out - we loved it and to this day, I still love markets.

Anyway I will be having this one in a salad for my tea and remembering things past.
