The Spord

Sea-stacks in Orkney are often called 'castles' of this place or that, but this one is just called 'The Spord'. I have no idea of the origin. It sounds like that two-utensils in one that people have to try and use at buffets.

I walked from Skara Brae along the coast northward to Marwick. A nice day, though the breaks in the cloud seemed reluctant to meet the sun. Maybe they were shy. Off to Sanday tomorrow.
