Coling Hay

Getting used to this sunny and warm weather, 18-22 degrees :)  It has clouded over this evening, with a light shower.

I've had a day in the museum office.  I've been working through photo orders and also scanning photos.  It was busy in town with a cruise liner in today.  After work, straight around to the new house and tidy up and headed to the dump with all the chopped down trees.  Popped along friends for a cuppa after.  Off to work in the pub later.

With the fine day, I had to get out of town at lunchtime and a walk out in the fresh air.  I saw folk working in the rig and headed over for a yarn.  Will and Jean Halcrow were busy coling hay in the meadows.  This traditional way is dying out fast, and ugly silage bales taking over.  What a wonderful smell with the hay too, but with less hay being cut, the wild flowers are struggling to get through the grass and mosses taking over.  Taken in the Aith meadows, Cunningsburgh.
